A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

We had a great Christmas with our growing little family this year. We missed our families but still enjoyed good company with our great friends the Clays and the Christiansens for Christmas Eve and Christmas Dinner. So glad I didn't have to be responsible for cooking everything myself and it was delicious and fun.

We had a nice relaxing Christmas Day. The girls were so cute. When Saydee woke up we rushed into her room to tell her Santa came and left her some gifts under our tree. Still not quite completely grasping the concept of Santa Claus she said, "Santa brought a present for Saydee, Cool mom. ok." And yet we still had to coax her out of her room to the tree.
When she saw the presents she just stood there and pointed.

Saydee was so excited about every little thing she got to unwrap, even Heath's dress shirts. Elli focused all her attention on the tissue and wrapping paper. We missed being with Tyson but it was fun to talk to him and listen to all his excitement. Kids make Christmas so much fun. It was fun to see Saydee begin to learn the story of Christ's birth though I think when talk of Christmas comes again next year, I'm sure she'll be thinking presents. Still a week and a half later she gives us little random "presents" throughout the day and says "Merry Christmas!"
Little ones :)

I love Christmas and the start of a New Year. And even though I know a few of my past resolutions were broken after the first few weeks, optimism is in the air.

It looks like you had a great Christmas. Tell the girls we're so glad Santa found them! That Santa is a great guy!

I am so glad that your Christmas was good. Santa really found you guys! The only thing that could have been better for us would have been if we had been all together! Give my love to everybody.

How fun! Don't you love how relaxed and simple Christmas was being with just "your" family. :) I loved it! (All except the cooking.) Going home would still be nice every now and then. :) Your girls are so cute. Saydee makes me laugh at all the cute things she says and does.
