Way Back in June

I've been meaning to post these months ago...

So tomorrow begins our departure to the west. Definitely bitter sweet. We'll miss Heath much more than he thinks, i miss him already. He is so good to us all. But we are excited to spend time with our family back home. I'm usually not so good at blogging during vacation, but Heath made me promise i'd post fairly often, so he's not so cut off. And really it's gonna be a pretty long vacation. Thus begins our lives as a gypsy... at least the company will be great!
In truth, as fun as this year has been and will be, I'm tired. We have lots of friends who deploy or constantly move around. I don't know how they do it. In my mind I keep thinking, this is only temporary, I can handle anything temporary. Some people's strength just amazes me.
I guess you do what you gotta do.
Yesterday, half in jest half in truth, I told Heath. "I don't want to be strong, I'm fine and dandy with weak and comfortable" I guess we'd all like it nice and easy, huh. Darn that thing called growth.

Ok enough of my moping. We are super duper excited about these next 2 weeks. Lots of family, camping, reunions, and Tyson's baptism. Wonderful wonderful.

To leave you on a positive note, some funny quotes from our little BIG kids:

  • Elli and Saydee were fighting over a toy. And Tyson observing the whole thing looks at me and shaking his head with a big sigh says "Do you think they'll ever learn."
  • I walked into my bedroom to find Elli and Saydee into my jewlery, Elliana had 4 or 5 necklaces draped around her neck and on her head. No doubt with Saydee's assistance.Saydee jumps up with a very disapproving look at Elli and says "Momma just look at your daughter"

I love being a Momma, you get to laugh everyday.

Slave Labor

The kids constantly hound me to do "projects". One day last week I was running around trying to play catchup on everything and there they were hounding me. I remembered I had come across this idea on a blog somewhere. I really wanted to give due credit but can't find it again. Anyhow, my kids were entertained for a good hour and years worth of collected change was cleaned, ready to be exchanged. A simple solution I would have never thought of on my own.

This little "project" was also a great review on the value of $.

The end of SC

Great Parks. We went to this one a lot.

Patriot's Point

Heath and I voted Patriot's Point our favorite site in Charleston. We got to board the old WWII aircraft carrier Yorktown. Awesome experience and we all left with a little more respect for those that serve our Country.

Heath snapped this pic of Tyson taking in the USS Yorktown. A respectful mini soldier minus the uniform. Both kids loved it here.

A few pics from the hotel scene

One day we painted faces and i was just finishing up when the hotel fire alarm went off. So there we are dressed up and sitting on the curb in front of the hotel. Too young for embarrassment yet, they thought it was great.

More Beach

We became quick friends with this great couple out in SC. They made our beach visits so much funner and better. Our kids love them. Strange how some people you just meet you feel like you've known them forever. That's Beth and Corey. Great people! And they are transferring to O'Fallon soon. What luck... if we're still around.
